About Calvert

  • CALVERT'S HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

Calvert is a private school located in the United States. It was founded in 1897 in Maryland Baltimore by the Harvard Graduate Dr. Calvert. The school has provided a means for countries outside of America to have access to American education. Calvert School provides a time-tested and complete home school curriculum with two goals in mind: To inspire the best in your child and to make you the best home teacher and Learning Guide possible.

  • WHY WE CHOSE CALVERT?

The Calvert School has helped educate more than 600,000 children throughout the past century. Internationally recognized, the program features fully accredited curriculum and textbooks from major educational publishers. Calvert has also developed their own accompanying textbooks when they could not find one that met their standards. The Calvert Curriculum sets high and clear expectations that foster a culture of achievement.

  • CALVERT COURSE FEATURES

In AES, our ESL courses help the students develop their fundamental abilities to read, write and speak English, so as to engage in the studies of the Calvert courses. In the Calvert program, the students in Taiwan will learn various subjects such as math, geography, social studies, science, etc---all in English, just like the students in America.

  • WHAT CALVERT PROVIDES

Each teacher has their own set of detailed Lesson Manuals that give direction and support to ensure that every student will realize his or her full potential. Each student will be given their own set of textbooks, workbooks, reading books and supplies according to each grade level. In addition, Calvert students will be given access to online lessons and activities provided by the Calvert Program.

  • HOW THE CALVERT PROGRAM WORKS IN AES

Calvert’s time-tested school curriculum is built on the principle of subject integration. For instance, while students are learning about a plant’s life cycle in Science, they are reading about Seasons in Language Arts and discussing Geography by comparing plants and weather in different places. The Calvert program starts with a rich foundation of reading, writing, and arithmetic. That foundation is then layered with history, science, music, geography, and the arts to ensure no gaps in instruction.
